Bachelor of Science in Business Management, major in Financial Management. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. November 2015. Adviser: Dr. Nelia C. Cresino. A study was conducted to determine the cost and benefit of parents migration to students of Cavite State University. It was conducted from June to September 2015 among 260 students with migrant parents. The participants were second year college, second child, nine years old when their parents went abroad, and had a household size of 5 members. Majority of the students live in their own houses with their parents left behind. About 44 students stopped from schooling for two semesters due to financial reason. Majority of the respondents had their fathers working abroad. Majority of the migrant fathers were married, reached college level, had 10 years' experience abroad as laborer or helper. Also, majority of the mothers were high school graduates and worked as household service worker. Majority of the migrant parents worked in the home service and manufacturing industries with a monthly salary of P32,722. Majority of the students reported that their parents worked abroad for better working condition and better salary, there were fewer opportunities to the country of origin, and family pressure. The main country of immigration of parents was the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Students were not affected by the social cost of parent migration with the general rating of 1.74. The participants received an average monthly remittances of P24,029 through money transfer agencies. The utilization of remittances was mainly decided by parents left behind. The gross family income of household of students with migrant parents amounted to P711.722 and the average annual family net worth amounted to P625.180 annually. The social benefit of parent migration to students was positive with an overall mean of 3.18. The students of Cavite State University with migrant parents were positive towards coping for the temporary loss during their parent migration
