Online resources: Abstract: The study entitled, "Response of Volvariella Volvacea to Different Volume of Banana Bedding Materials", was conducted at Calumpang Cerca, Indang, Cavite from August to September, 1979 to determine the right volume of bedding materials suited to mushroom culture based on given amount of spawn. Sixteen mushroom box frames of different volumes constituted four treatments and four replications in the study. These volumes were: Ty) - l cu. ft., Ty - 1.5 cu. ft., T3 - 2.25 cu. ft. and Ty - 3 cu. ft. Dried banana leaves as bedding materials were used in all treatments. Results of the study showed that the mean yield in all treatments were statistically equal which made the author to conclude that the yield of mushroom does not lie on the volume of the bedding materials used but on the amount of Spawn planted. With this finding, the author recommends the use of 1*' x 1" x 1" or cu. ft. volume of bedding materials for every 62 grams of spawn for it requires less labor in part of the mushroom raiser.
