Abstract: TUZON, GENALYN V. Cross — sectional study of fasciolosis in cattle slaughtered at Sta. Rosa City, Laguna Slaughterhouse. Undergraduate Thesis Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2019. Adviser: Dr. Adrian Miki C. Macalanda. The study was conducted to detect the prevalence of fasciolosis among cattle brought to Sta. Rosa City, Laguna Slaughterhouse from 7 different provinces. Two hundred sixty-nine cattle were tested using the two diagnoses: post-mortem inspection by visual observation and coprological examination using sedimentation technique. The detection rate was correlated to different risk factors such as age, sex, and area of origin of the animal. The results of this study showed that there is a high prevalence of fasciolosis in young male cattle as compared to female older cattle. Among the provinces, those that from Ilocos Norte showed the highest prevalence. Furthermore, all the identified flukes were Fasciola gigantica.
