This study entitled "Dance preference of CSPEAR students between Philippine folk dance and popular dance", was conducted to know the preference of CSPEAR students between Philippine folk dance and popular dance. Specially the study aimed to: determine the demographic profile of the participants in terms of age, sex, year level, and religion; determine the dance preference of CSPEAR students between Philippine folk dance and popular dance (Hip-hop) in terms of (a) costumes (b) music (c) level of difficulty (d) benefits; find the significant difference between dance preferences of CSPEAR students with regards to Philippine folk dance and popular dance in terms of (a) costumes (b) music (c) level of difficulty (d) benefits; and find the significant relationship between the demographic profiles of CSPEAR students and their preference between Philippine folk dance and popular dance?
The study was conducted at Cavite State University-Main campus, Indang, 2avite. Descriptive research design was used to obtain information concerning the current status to describe what exists in population and sampling, random sampling technique was used to determine the sample size and provided survey questionnaire as the research instrument. The respondents were 17 to 22 years old and most of them were male. The students showed preference to both Philippine folk dance and popular dance but they preferred popular dance more when it comes to the results.
