Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. April 2008. Adviser: Dr. Josefina R. Rim. This study was conducted from June to December 2007 to identify the stress factors and coping mechanisms encountered by CvSU nursing students in the preparation and presentation of case studies. It aimed to (a) identify the factors that affect the CvSU nursing students in the preparation and presentation of case studies; (b) identify the warning signs of stress experienced by the nursing students in the preparation and presentation of case studies; (c) enumerate the coping mechanisms used in solving their problems; (d) determine if there was significant relationship between the stress factors and coping mechanisms of nursing students in the preparation and presentation of case studies; and (e) determine where the students experience higher degree of stress between community and hospital setting. Using an adapted questionnaires 86 fourth year nursing students', Batch 2008, served as the respondents. The study revealed that the respondents were slightly affected by stress factors and warning signs of stress. They have moderate coping style in dealing with stress during the preparation and presentation of case studies. Results revealed that there is significant relationship between the stress factors and coping mechanisms of nursing students in the preparation and presentation of case studies.
