AMBATA, FLORLYN MALLARE. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April, 2001. "Screening of Different Pesticidal Plants Against Cyperus rotundus Linn." Adviser: Dr. Josefina R. Rint
The experiment was conducted at Banay Banay, Amadeo, Cavite from December to January 2001 to identify the plants with pesticidal effect against Cyperus rotundus, determine the time of application of the pesticidal plant for the control of Cyperus rotundus and to determine the most effective concentration of tested pesticidal plant for the control of Cyperus rotundus. Three sets of experiments were conducted. The first two laboratory tests were performed to determine the most effective pesticidal plant extract and its effective concentration while the third was conducted to test its efficiency under field condition. The experiments was subjected to Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and was laid out in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and were replicated three times. Results showed that among the five plant extract evaluated, Chromolaena odorata leaf extract has a potential to control or inhibit the growth of Cyperus rotundus and that this plant is an effective post-emergence herbicide.
