The project was conducted at Brgy. Buna Lejos Indang, Cavite with a capital of P 17, 000. The project aimed to apply agribusiness principles and techniques in managing bell pepper. The project composed of 11 plots with 660 bell pepper plants in 300 m2 area. The project was operated as a partnership-type of business.
Pre-production activities included purchasing of seeds and other materials such as compost, fertilizers, seedling trays, plastic mulch, vinegar, galvanized wire and bamboo sticks. Preparing of holes, planting, staking, watering, weeding and applying of both organic and inorganic fertilizers were the main production activities done.
During the production, it was observed that spraying of coconut vinegar prevented severe infestation of pests. The estimated yield per plant was 80 grams. Packed fresh bell peppers were sold at P120-P150 per kilogram at Maragondon public market. Small quantities of fruits were sold at sari-sari store and walk-in customers at P150per kilogram. The total cost of production was P16, 482.53. The total sales amounted to P 19 807.50 and the net profit was P3, 324.97. The return on investment was 20.17 percent.
