The relationship self-concept and academic performance among senior high school students in Trece Martirez City National High School SY 2005-2006 was analyzed during the second semester of school year 2005-2006. The study aimed to determine the demographic profile of the respondents, determine the self-concept of the respondents, determine the academic performance of the respondents and determine the relationship of self-concept and academic performance. A total of 120 respondents, from 12 fourth year sections in Trece Martirez City National High School comprised the samples of the study. The researcher used Pearson Product Moment Coefficient to determine the relationship of self-concept and academic performance. Pasao rating scale developed by Myrna M. Pasao was used as an instrument of the study. The results show that majority of the respondents were female, had a high self-concept and good academic performance. Self-concept of the respondents has no relationship with their academic performance. The researcher recommends that this study should be replicated. They may also investigate other psychological measures that can affect the academic performance of high school students. For the students, it is very necessary for them to know themselves since this could help them become more successful in their academic endeavors.
