Abstract: PANERIO, MARJORIE ANN B. and JOHN CARLO C. SANGALANG. Ornamental Production of Edging Ornamental Plants (Picarra, Macaffeana and Red Creeper) for Landscaping Using Stem Cutting: An Entrepreneurial Development Project. Enterprise Development Project. Bachelor of Agricultural Entrepreneurship, major in Crop Production. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2018. Adviser: Dr. Julio G. Alava. The project, "Ornamental Production of Edging Ornamental Plants (Picarra, Macaffeana and Red Creeper) for Landscaping Using Stem Cutting", was established at the Nursery area of the Crop Production Unit, College of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Natural Resources (CAFENR) of Cavite State University Main Campus, Indang, Cavite from January 2018 to March 2018. The project involved the production of 1000 potted seedlings of Picarra and 500 potted seedlings of Macaffeana and Red Creeper grown in polyethylene bags measuring 4 x 4 x 7 cm placed in an open area. Specifically, the project aimed to: learn the management and practices in ornamental production used in edging in the landscaping project; apply the skills and knowledge of the student in the field of ornamental production of plants used in edging in the landscaping project; experience the actual ornamental production of landscape ornamental plants; and determine the profitability of production of ornamental plants for landscaping project. The implementation of the project started by preparing the beds for the stem cuttings propagation, purchase of stem cuttings and other materials necessary for seedling production such as potting mix. Bagging and marketing were performed during the pre-production activities. The main production activities done in ornamental production were selection and gathering of the stem cuttings for planting materials, pruning of leaves, propagation or planting of cuttings and post-planting operation such as weeding, control and pest and diseases and watering. Marketing of 535 pcs. of Picarra potted seedlings was sold at Php 30.00/pc at wholesale basis and 40 pcs. were sold at Php 35.00/pc at retail basis. Meanwhile, 280 pcs. of Macaffeana potted seedlings were sold at Php 25.00/pc. and Red Creeper potted seedlings of 497 pcs. were sold at Php 10.00/pc. The products were offered to landscapers, garden shops and institutions like Cavite State University for landscaping purposes. At the end of the project, the student entrepreneurs realized a net profit of P22,650.00 from the gross income with a Return on Investment (ROI) of 334.56 percent.
