Abstract: ANDAL, PRAISE A. and DILIDILI, WARREN E. Development of faculty research information system implementing a map as visualization tool for Cavite State University - Main Campus. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2018. Adviser: Mr. Mark Philip M. Sy. Faculty research information system implementing a map as a visualization tool for Cavite State University — Main Campus was developed to provide the research center of the university a computerized information system that could handle researches of faculty members. The system is responsible for collecting, storing and retrieval of data for the purpose of efficient management and generating reports. The proponents used the prototyping methodology as the process of development of the system. This method is composed of six process including requirements gathering and analysis, design, build prototype, customer evaluation, refining prototype and engineer product. The materials used to develop the system are Cross-Platform, Apache, MySQL, PHP, and Pearl (XAMPP), PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) as programming language, Sublime Text 3 for text editor, Adobe Photoshop for designing and editing, and Microsoft Word Office for documentation. The hardware requirements used in the development of the system were windows 10 Pro 64-bit Operating System, Intel Celeron, 8Gigabyte Random Access Memory (RAM). The system was evaluated by 50 respondents including technical and non-technical evaluators. The system was checked and tested based on the following criteria: functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, portability, and user- friendliness. The evaluators are composed of information technology professionals, director of the research center, faculty researchers, faculty members, and students from Cavite State University — Main Campus. The system passed the requirements and all criteria for the evaluation.
