Abstract: CAMITAN, KEITH BREN M, LONTOC, JEFFREY B., MANALILI, SEAN JEREMIAH T. and PARRS, ORLLIN CRIS A. "Design and Development of a Improved Wood cutting machine for Furniture Shops". Design Project. Bachelor of Industrial Technology. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. May 2019. Adviser: Mr. Emerson C. Lascano. The study was conducted to design and develop a wood-cutting machine for furniture shops in order to improve the machine in terms of cutting and in safety. The machine was made and designed in Pasong Bayog II, Burol Main, Dasmarinas, Cavite and in Electrical Laboratory at Department of Industrial Engineering and Technology, College of Engineering and Information Technology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. The machine underwent some modification and had some safety features including a sensor, buzzer and relay until the researchers are satisfied with performance of the wood-cutting machine. With the availability of the needed materials, the construction for the improved wood-cutting was possible. The machine was tested using different woods to be able to determined the efficiency and the capacity of the motor. Based on the evaluation conducted it was found that the development of improved wood-cutting machine is highly acceptable. The total cost of the design project was Php P26,185.
