Mystic Mushroom was a three-month entrepreneurial project operated by three Business Management majors in Marketing Management students conducted at Barangay Cabuco, Trece Martires City, Cavite from November 19, 2015 to February 15, 2016. The project was conducted to help the students apply their skills and knowledge in business management. This project also helped them develop entrepreneurial skills which may be useful for future endeavours. Specifically, it also aimed to gain experience in the actual operation of producing oyster mushroom; determine the profitability of producing cultivated oyster mushroom; apply the appropriate marketing tactics and strategies: and identify the problems encountered and make possible solutions in cultivating of mushroom. The project operated as a partnership type of business wherein the proponents were responsible for the operation of the business. During the operation of the business, the entrepreneurs encountered problems such as presence of green molds, contamination of fruiting bags, and overwatering. The most unexpected problem that the entrepreneurs encountered was the destruction of the mushroom house due to typhoon and heavy wind. Many fruiting bags were damaged and were not able to bear fruits. At the end of the operation, the enterprise generated total sales of P 16,080.00. Through this project, the students were able to apply their knowledge, skills and strategies in handling a business. The experiences operating in this project may help them put up their own business someday.
