Abstract: CHARMAIGNE R. GENERSOSO, NINA ANGELICA T. MOJICA “Lived Experiences of Childless Married Women in General Trias, Cavite”. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite March 2016, Adviser: Ms. Joy N. Babaan. This study determined the lived experiences of childless married women in General Trias, Cavite, the manifestation feelings, thoughts and emotions of the participants, how they see themselves as perceived by others, and how did they cope up with their experiences being childless. The researchers employed interpretative phenomenological analysis approach and the combinations of purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The participants of this study were six childless married women living in General Trias, Cavite with the criteria; (1) childless married women ages 25 to 40 living in General Trias, Cavite; (2) married for at least 3 year; (3) personally wanted to have a child regardless of the reasons of being childless; (4) no adopted child/children; (5S) willing and able to share their lived experiences; (6) did not take any form of contraceptive or birth control; (7) regularly consulting an Obstetrician Gynecologist; and (8) the women are the ones who have birth problems and not their husband. An in-depth interview was used to know each lived experiences of the participants. The results showed that the feelings, thought and emotions of childless married women vary in each individual. They are still hopeful and contented despite their situation. Some were also feeling happy and were open minded while some experienced sadness, fear, envy and difficultness when they were alone and think about their situation. Social support for childless married women is very important. It helps them in facing the reality of not having a child and provides them courage to deal with every day lived experiences. They had different ways of coping, some divert their attention to other things to not think about their situation while others used the knowledge that they learn to understand more their situation.
