Abstract: DIZON, EMMANUEL H., MASICAP, MHEL KEVIN N. Development of a Single - Phase Energy Conversion Trainer for Cavite State University. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Industrial Technology major in Electrical Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Mr. Leonardo A. Estero. The study was developed to produce a single — phase energy conversion trainer. It provided knowledge about motors and generators to the students . electrical courses, especially Electrical Technology. The trainer was tested and evaluated in terms of user interaction, safety features, knowledge gain, efficiency and functionality. The trainer was composed of a motor and generator as the driving unit. Voltmeter, ammeter and power factor meter were the measuring devices used in the trainer. Computation of loads and troubleshooting were the main experiments that the trainer provided. The study aimed to enhance and train the skills and knowledge of the trainees in conducting experiments in motor and generator. Testing of the trainer was conducted before it was subjected to final evaluation. It was tested by conducting the provided experiment at the electrical laboratory. The experiment was tested with various activities performed by the researcher. The good outcome led to the subject of the design project for evaluation. The performance of the trainer was evaluated and found to be very efficient, reliable and economical, effectively used in any electrical activities of the university. The study satisfied all the objectives and therefore confirmed that it was conducted. However, there were some recommendations to further determine the performance of the trainer.
