The farm practice "Management Employed and Problems Encountered by Swine Raiser in Bancod" was conducted to determine the management used and problems met by hog raiser and to evaluate if the raisers were using an approved prac-tices in_swine production. This was conducted in Bancod, Indang, Cavite a barrio gehinicIgAirto the college proper with the duration of one and a half month starting from January 19, 1981 to March 2, 19810
Methods used were interviewing the respondents, gathering data, analysis of data and transferring technology. The management employed by hog raiser includes feeding, breeding, housing the animal, disease prevention and control, and marketing. Other related activities undertaken were assisting the farrowing sow, nursing and caring of the suckling piglets such as cutting the navel cord, cutting the needle teeth, injecting iron to piglets three days after farrowing to prevent piglets anemia, castration and administering anti-hog cholera vaccine.
