The project, "Production of IPB Var. 1 (Yellow Corn Intercropped with Pineapple" was conducted at Dagatan, Amadeo, Cavite from November 1989 to February 1990. It aimed to further determine the possibility and profitability of producing corn intercropped with pineapple plants. In addition, the project was es-tablished to develop skills and abilities in handling a crop production project with corn planted in bet-ween pineapple plants. An existing 2,500 square meter pineapple plant-ation was used as the project site. Corn seeds sown between pineapple were found viable. A hundred percent germination was observed five days after sowing. Complete fertilizer at the rate of 200 kilograms per hectare was basically applied on the area. The plants were harvested one hundred ten days after planting. The marketable fresh corn ears were marketed at Silang Public Market. The gross income of P2,300.00 provided a net income of P1,327.40 after the total cost of product-ion was deducted.
