Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Sports in Recreational Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Prof. Victor F. Piores. The study was conducted to determine the attitude and perception towards sports of college students in Cavite State University Main Campus, AY 2015-2016. Specifically, it aimed to: describe the demographic profile of the participants; determine the attitude and perception towards sports; and determine how attitude and perception of the participants towards sports differ by age, gender, degree/course, weekly school allowance and monthly family income. A total of 390 college students of the University participated in this study using Stratified random sampling in selecting the participants on the basis of age and gender to determine the sample size by college. Slovin’s formula was also used at a five percent margin of error (5% or .05). Moreover, Kruskal Wallis was used to determine the significant difference in the attitude and perception towards sports when participants are grouped according to age, gender, weekly school allowance, and monthly family income. Findings showed that more than half of the college students were practicing sports and other physical activities outside the school. Other schools were the common places college students spent most of their time engaging in sports and other physical activities. The most common reason why college students did not practice sports and other physical activities in and out of the school was lack of time. There were more college students engaged in sports and other physical activities inside the school campus compare to those who did not practice it. The most frequently visited CvSU facilities by college students for sports and other physical activities in the past months were classrooms, followed by school grounds, and gymnasium. The perception of college students towards sports was generally positive, which indicated a favorable view on the importance of sports on their college lives.
