This project was conducted at Brgy. Palangue Il, Naic, Cavite from February 09, 2017 to May 08, 2017. The project intended to develop skills of the student in backyard hog raising in terms of actual operation. The project used four piglets that were purchased from a farmer that has a small piggery business. The average weight of the weanlings was
15.2 kg. They were given commercial feeds, 3 starters, 6 growers, and 4 finishers. Pens were cleaned daily.
After 88 days the stock weighs an average live weight of 79 kg, with an average daily gain of 0.72 kg per day. The hogs consumed and average of 162.5 kg of feeds per head, giving a feed conversion efficiency of 2.54.
The total expenses of the project were P31,926.00 used for buying stocks, feeds, medicine and other inputs used in operation. The total sale from the fattening hogs was P41 ,080.00. The entrepreneurial project gave a net income of P9,284.00 giving a return of investment of (ROI) of 29.1 %.
