The entrepreneurial development project was established at Mahabang Kahoy Cerca, Indang, Cavite. With a capital of Php 6,644.75, the project was implemented from February 2017 to May 2017. The project aimed for the student to apply crop production and their entrepreneurial skills; acquire knowledge in producing cacao seedlings using bio-fertilizers; identify proper management practices of cacao seedlings; and evaluate the profitability of the enterprise.
The project involved the production of 1000 cacao seedlings of "Criollo" and "Trinitario" in a 5 x 6 polyethylene bags.
Purchase of seeds and materials needed in the production, preparation of project site, and preparation of soil media and bagging were performed during the pre-production activities.
Pre-germination treatment, seed sowing, seedling establishment, watering, weeding, fertilization using bio-fertilizers, controlling the pest, and hardening were performed during the production of the cacao seedlings.
The entrepreneurial development project was a successful enterprise which the students plan to pursue and expand in the future.
