Abstract: This income generating project about corn production: was conducted in Aliingaro, General Trias, Cavite in the field of Mr. Gabino Dinglasan (author's farmer cooperator) from November,, 1982 to February, 1983 to determine the feasibility and profitability of corn production in the area, and to develop farmer's interest in corn production. Approximately one-half hectare field was prepared by plowing two times followed by harrowing with an interval of about a week.. Planting was done on November 20t 1982. Three seeds were planted in the furrows thirty centimeters apart. Weeding was employed when the growth of weeds was noticed in the area. Cultivation was done by Filling-up four weeks after planting to kill weeds and loosen the soil for better aeration. Urea fertilizer at the rate of 200 kilograms per hectare was applied for two times. Initial application was dome 10 days after planting and finally when the plants were about knee-high in growth. The method used was side dressing. Harvesting was dome at about three and one-half months after planting. Husks were removed and corn ears were dried under the sun. The kernels were marketed dried which provide a total sale of P 1,200.00. When the total expenses were deducted from the sales, the remaining amount was P550.00.
