Bachelor of Science in Criminology. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. June 2018. Adviser: Dr. Susan G. Tan. The study was conducted from October 2017 to April 2018 to assess the cybercrime awareness amongst students of Cavite State University Main Campus. Specifically, it pursued to answer the following problems: to determine the demographic profile of the students in terms of their age, sex and year level, o find out the level of awareness of the students of Cavite State University Main-Campus on cybercrime in terms of hacking, child pornography, cyber bullying, identity theft and online scam, To determine if there is a significant relationship between the profile of the student and level of awareness among students of Cavite State University Main-Campus on cybercrime. Quantitative survey research method was used in the study. Stratified random technique will be used to gather information from the students that are divided into small group. The total participants of the study were 385 students in the different colleges of Cavite State University Main Campus. A self-made survey questionnaire served as a tool for gathering data for this study. It was found out that most of the participants are between -18-19 years old, female, and majority in third year level. Moreover, the students were fully aware on hacking, cyber bullying, and some of the statement on online scam. On the other hand, students were aware on child pornography, identity theft and some of the statement on online scam. Furthermore, the null hypothesis of no significant relationship between the demographic profile of the student and level of awareness on cybercrime was rejected. It is recommended that the students of Cavite State University should be made aware of cybercrime and how students avoid cybercrime victimization, through an information drive by distributing leaflets and flyers on cybercrime offences. Also, the Central Student Government in Coordination with OSAS and the University GAD Focal Point System should conduct seminar regarding the awareness of the students on Cybercrime, prevention program such as intervening and extension program. This must be done in collaboration with the Philippine National Police. And the College of Criminal Justice in coordination with the Office of student Affairs should conduct intervention and extension programs to strengthen the awareness of the students on cybercrime. And lastly, educating the students is on high priority on the issues like: uses and misuses of Internet, importance of Internet security, awareness about cyber law and regulations, impact of technology on crime, knowledge on Internet policies at University, and University workshop and orientation from experts and ethical hackers are to be encouraged to strengthen their awareness towards cybercrime.
