DUALAN, OSCAR BLAISE T., RENT, MARC RENNIEL L and VILLANUEVA, MC LARREN S. Development of Library Management System for Alfonso National High School. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Ms. Charlotte B. Carandang.
The development of Library Management System for Alfonso National High School was conducted to help the school in creating a better management of their library. Specifically, the study aimed to help students and the library staff of the school to quickly search for the book they need and to improve the management of recording and monitoring their newly acquired, borrowed, and returned books.
The developed system consisted of six (6) modules; namely, Account, Search, Book, Transaction, Report Module and Notifications. Account Module consists of data about the parties who access the system, such as the students, librarians and other guests. Search module consists of data about transactions and the books such as names of the author, call numbers, and copies.
Book Module consists of all the data about the books inside the library such as the names of the authors, call numbers, and copies. Transaction Module contains data about the borrowed, returned, and reserved books. Report Module contains the report of lost, borrowed, returned, damaged books and reserved books. Lastly, the Notifications module that notifies the students about their due.
The researchers used the Iterative Modelling Process as their methodology. It consists of seven phases: planning, requirements, analysis and design, implementation, testing, deployment and evaluation. Sixty participants evaluated the system. These participants included 50 students, and teachers of ANHS for the non-technical part, and 10 college teachers from Department of Information Technology for the technical part. They evaluated the software based on its functionality, reliability, usability, and user-friendliness. The results were tabulated, analyzed, and statistically treated using mean and standard deviation.
