Abstract: Profiling and Needs Assessment of Newly Elected Sangguniang Kabataan in Silang, Cavite: Basis for Crafting Capability Enhancement Program.Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Development Management major in Rural Development Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Alberto M. Aguilar. The study aimed to determine the demographic and socio-economic profiles of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials in Silang, Cavite; determine the reasons for running as SK officials; determine the level of knowledge of SK Officials on their duties and responsibilities; identify training needs of newly elected SK Officials in Silang, Cavite; and develop a training design based on the most frequently identified training needs assessment of newly elected SK Officials. The age of the participants ranged from 18 to 25 with a mean 21. Most of the participants were single. More than half had college level of education. More than half of participants' fathers were skilled. The monthly family income ranged from Php 5,000 to Php 53,000. More than half of the participants' mothers were unskilled. Majority of the participants had no other source of income. Majority of the participants ran for SK by their own decision while some were influenced by their family members. As for the reasons for joining the SK, majority said it was their own choice and almost half said they wanted to serve the community. More than half of the participants attended trainings and seminars within the last 3 years. Most of them had no membership in other organizations. All of the participants were very knowledgeable on the duties and responsibilities of the Sangguniang Kabataan.
