Abstract: This study was conducted to 1) determine the effects of streptomycin sulfate ( Agrimycin 100) applied at different rates and intervals on the control of bacterial blight in anthurium and 2) determine the correct dosage and interval of streptomycin sulfate application that will give more effective control of bacterial blight It was conducted from May 1992 to October 1992. The study revealed that streptomycin sulfate is effective in reducing the incidence of bacterial blight infection and in increasing the height of pl ants, although there are no significant differences among the treated plants it can also be inferred that the intervals of application, whether weekly or bi—weekly, has no effect on the incidence of bacterial blight infection on anthurium and on the height of the pl ants. Based on this study, the use of VI (0-25 vial of streptomycin sulfate/ gallon of water ) is highly recommended for economic reasons which will benefit the anthurium growers .
