Abstract: The study, "Response of Atis (Anona squamosa, Linn,) Seeds to Different Levels of Various Chemical Pre-Germinating 'Treatments :r was conducted to determine the effect of chemical solutions, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and sodium hydroxide in germinating seeds of atis; the right concentration of these chemicals that would break the prolonged dormancy period of at is seeds; and to find out the survival of seeds as affected by these chemicals. The seeds treated with concentration of NaOH germinated 140125 days after sowing, The seeds treated with concentration of NaOH gave the highest percent germination with a mean of 26.25 percent, the highest percent survival was obtained from treatment of HCI with a mean of 91.667. Generally, seeds treated with different chemicals resulted to early germination, On the other hand, untreated seeds (Control) did not show any sign of germination until the experiment was terminated, Based on the results of the study, C3C3 1% of NaOH was found t, o be the most effective concentration and chemical in breaking the prolonged dormancy period of atis seeds,
