Bachelor of Science in Criminology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. July 2022. Adviser: Ms. Silkie C. Tuguinay. This study was conducted to assess the preparedness of the local government unit's (LGU's) disaster risk reduction management (DRRM) plan in Tanza, Cavite, particularly in terms of the disaster response plan for vulnerable groups with disabilities before and during a catastrophic event. Specifically, this study aimed to: 1) determine the level of preparedness done by the DRRM team for vulnerable group with disabilities on disaster response plan; 2) determine the problems encountered by the DRRM on the implementation of disaster response plan for vulnerable group with disabilities; and 3) determine the problems encountered by the selected vulnerable groups with disabilities on the implementation of disaster response plan implemented by DRRM. The study would involve the officers assigned in the city/municipality DRRM office and also some selected vulnerable group with disabilities (PWD's) of Tanza, Cavite. Interviews and surveys were conducted in order to gather information. The study findings for the first research question shows that the level of preparedness done by the DRRM team for vulnerable group with disabilities on disaster response plan in Tanza, Cavite is moderate with an average of 3.85 and a standard deviation of 1.25. The study's findings for the second research questions shows that the L GU'S DRRM plan in Tanza, Cavite encountered minor problems on the implementation of disaster response plan for vulnerable group with disabilities with an average of 3.42 and a standard deviation of 1.13. For the third research question, the study found that the LGU'S DRRM plan on the implementation of disaster response plan in Tanza, Cavite encountered minor problems as perceived by the selected vulnerable groups with disabilities with an average of 3.57 and a standard deviation of 1.17. Results showed that there is insufficiency in the result of the analysis in every research question in terms of the physical preparedness, financial preparedness, and community preparedness of the local government unit's (LGU's) disaster risk reduction management (DRRM) response plan in Tanza, Cavite for vulnerable groups with disabilities. These are needed to be addressed for the betterment of their LGU's DRRM response plan.
