ILAGAN, EDWARD S. Applied Research IV (Agri-Science Curriculum) Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, March 1995. "Effect of Dried and Ground Pineapple Peelings on The Growth Performance of Broilers"
Adviser: Prof. Erano C. Esguerra
Four treatment groups were used having levels of supplementation as follows: "1",„ - (pure commercial feeds); 10% dried and ground pineapple peelings -1- 901
commercial feeds; 1, 1574 dried and ground pineapple peelings + 851 commercial feeds; T75. 20% dried and ground pineapple peelings 4 801 commercial feeds. The results revealed that the best level of supplementation was 201 dried and ground pineapple peelings + 801 commercial feeds. This treatment improved the growth of chicks in terms of final weight and gain in weight. Feed consumption also showed significant differences between each other.
However, there were no significant differences among treatment groups in terms of feed conversion efficiency. It was also found out that there was a slight increase in feed
consumption when the level of supplementation was increased thus increasing the amount of feeds needed in producing a kilogram of broiler. This result proved that dried and
ground pineapple peelings is a palatable feed stuff. The poorest result however, was obtained in the control which were fed with pure commercial feeds.
