Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Economics, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, April 1998, Adviser: Dr. Luzviminda A. Rodrin. "Ille study was conducted in Indang, Cavite. It aimed to: describe the socioeconomic characteristics of the respondents; determine the level of income of tricycle drivers; find out the family expenditure patterns of tricycle drivers according to their income level; ascertain the relationship between the level of income / expenditure and selected socio-economic characteristics ; determine the factors affecting expenditures patterns of tricycle drivers; and identity& the problems encountered by tricycle drivers in their job. From a total of 321 bicycle drivers in Indang, 50 respondents were seed as respondents in this study. The average age of the respondents at the time of the interview was 31.51. Eighty percent of the respondents were married. Fifty six percent of the respondents were high school graduates, 26 percent were college graduates, and the remaining 18 percent were elementary graduates. ne average household size was 4.7 members. The average length of service as tricycle drivers of the respondents was 5.74 years. The monthly income of the respondents ranged from P 2,000 to P 11,000 with an average ofP 5,660.64. Tie major items of expenditure of the respondents were food, education, clothing, housing and repair, monthly bills, cosmetics / personal accessories, and medical care. Among these items, food was considered as the most important and first priority of the respondents while cosmetics / personal accessories were considered least in importance .
