Abstract: CUISIA, JOMARI M. and ESPARAGOZA, DYAN C., Development of a Pulse Modulation and Demodulation Trainer. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. December 2018. Adviser: Engr. Nemilyn A. Fadchar. The main objective of the study was to design and construct a pulse modulation and demodulation trainer. Specifically, it aimed to: 1. design and construct function generators for the modulating signal and carrier signal; 2. develop and validate sets of exercises for the laboratory manual of the trainer; 3. test and evaluate the performance of the trainer through pilot testing. The system is composed of three (3) main parts — the modulating signal generator, the carrier signal generator, and the power supply — enclosed in a single unit. The trainer also comes with a laboratory manual, a storage box of the components necessary to conduct the experiments, and an oscilloscope to observe the outputs from the experiments. The results of the evaluation showed that the trainer is excellent in terms of its laboratory manual, efficiency, accuracy and reliability. The instructors who evaluated the system rated the trainer 7.14 out of 10 in terms of its likelihood to be endorsed to the university. The experimental readings from simulation were comparable to the theoretical values of the function generators. The study was conducted from December 2017 to August 2018 at Tanza, Cavite and Indang, Cavite. The total cost of the design project was P16,491.
