Abstract: SIERRA, JANICE PINILI. Viva Entertainment Group, Quezon City. Field Study. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Marketing. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite, April 2002. Adviser: Mr. Roderick M. Rupido. The study was conducted to: 1) expose the student to the different activities of Viva Entertainment Group, Quezon City in order to enhance her business insights; 2) provide experience to the student on how to work as a real employee of a firm; 3) generate ideas on how to process papers/document and learn skills in dealing with the suppliers and other mechanical works; and 4) identify problems encountered in the Administrative Department and recommend possible solutions tot he identified problems. The study was undertaken at E. Rodriguez Ave., New Manila, Quezon City from October 25, 2001 to February 8, 2002. Data were gathered through observations and interviews with the HRD Manager, FIR Assistant, Admin Supervisor, Admin Clerical Assistant, and Accounting officers, other information were obtained from the files and records of the company, research in National Library, and from the Cavite State University Library. Viva Entertainment Group is vertically and horizontally integrated multi-media entertainment conglomerate whose core businesses include: entertainment software development, production, promotions, and distribution, management of companies involved in film entertainment covering theatrical, video, TV, and cable, as well as musical recording and distribution, and talent management and development. It handles most of the different divisions/departments of the Viva Entertainment Group such as HRD, Administrative, Viva production, Viva Vintage Sport Inc., Purchasing, Treasury, Booking, MIS, Viva Concert, Viva Artist Agency. Viva Television, Viva Video Inc., Viva Records, United International Picture, Production, Harmony, Legal and Payroll Departments. The major responsibilities performed by the trainee include handling and providing request for releasing the checks and updating the company accounts. She likewise performed clerical works such as filling and sorting of different forms and documents used in Administrative Department, sending fax messages, photocopying, and logging all the incoming fax to be distributed to the different divisions. She also served as a receptionist and telephone operator. These activities were considered the strength of her training experience.
