Abstract: BOSICO, JAKE HOWELL C., MALATE, LEAH A., VILLARALBO, MYLENE P. Financial Literacy and Financial Education of the Business Management Stu- dents in Cavite State University - Main Campus. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Financial Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. August 2022. Adviser: Ms. Jemmalene O. Viado. The study was conducted to determine the financial literacy of business management students in Cavite State University-Main Campus, Indang, and their perception of its importance towards financial education. Specifically, the study aimed to describe the socioeconomic profile of business management students, their level of financial literacy as well as determine how these students develop financial education. Lastly, this also ascertained the relationship be- tween financial literacy and financial education. The study was conducted in Cavite State University-Main Campus in Indang, Cavite from May 2021 and finalized in January 2022 wherein 309 business management students served as the participants of the study. Descriptive and correlational methods of research were used. Frequency and percentage distribution, statistical mean, standard deviation, and Spearman's rho coefficient were used in presenting the socioeconomic profile and measuring the relationship between the financial literacy and financial education of business management students at Cavite State University-Main Campus. The participants were highly knowledgeable of financial products but were only moderately to highly knowledgeable of financial concepts and have the mathematical skills necessary to put the knowledge into making decisions. They were also moderately high in financial planning. Overall, they were moderately high in both financial literacy measured through the OECD method and financial planning methods. This study's findings suggest that business management students have strong self-beneficial financial practices, and a high likelihood of dealing with everyday challenges and achieving their goals via the proper use of financial tools. Financial education and financial literacy (both OECD method and financial planning) are closely correlated with a moderately positive relationship, as the further their financial education, the greater their financial literacy. The findings have established a significant and directly proportional relationship between financial literacy and financial education. Based on the descriptive for both variables, there exists a moderately high level of financial literacy and financial education among the participants.
