MARK GREGOR M. BENCITO and LEOMER G. PERIDO. Online Resource Mapping of Philippine Program Against Child Labor: Institutional Structure and Program Partners of Department of Labor and Employment. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 2009. Adviser: Ms. Charlotte B. Carandang.
The study was conducted to provide a comprehensive development and analysis of an Online Resource Mapping, a web based application system that resolved the issues of conducting the Department of Labor and Employments’ Resource Mapping.
The system provides functionality that automates the process of collecting and consolidating information. The system also provides accounts for the partners and administrators to update their profiles and necessary information needed in the resource mapping processes. Production of reports and other documents of the organization were also provided by the system.
The proponents used Prototyping Model as the development methodology which has four phases; Prototype Requirements, Prototype Design, Prototype System and Testing. The system was developed through the use of different development tools. Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 for the design of the system, PHP as the scripting language, AJAX for the client side coding and MySQL as the data storage of the system.
The system was evaluated by the respondents based on the given criteria: visual design and usability, content and features of the system, and acceptance criteria. Evaluators were composed of employees of the Department of Labor and Employment and other users. The system passed all the given criteria in evaluation and met all the targeted features and functionality as well as the requirements and its objectives.
