“PIK-A-CHIK”, a food service enterprise, was established by three marketing major students. The project was located at Crossing Mendez, East Tagaytay City and was conducted from October 20, 2002 to February 02, 2003. The entrepreneurial project aimed to: assess the financial performance of operating a food service business specializing on poultry products; describe the marketing practices adopted by the project; identify the problems encountered in the operation of the enterprise and recommend feasible solutions to the problems identified.
The proponents equally shared the amount of P33, 000.00 as the initial capital of the project. Prior to the actual operation, the proponents used the shared capital for the purchase of raw materials, tools and equipment and store rental and improvement. The remaining funds were used as the revolving capital of the project.
During the four (4) months of operation, total sales obtained by the enterprise amounted to P132,244.98, the total cost of sales was P 90,722.98 and the total operating expenses was P25,491.81. The enterprise gained a net income of P 16,030.19.
