Bachelor of Science in Business Management, major in Marketing. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. April 2003. Adviser: Ms. Ma. Judith V. Buena. A field study in Fernando’s Beach Resort and Hotel was conducted from October 10, 2002 to December 23, 2002 to apply the gained knowledge, skills and tools in business management to actual field operations. A study was conducted to provide the necessary information about the operation of Fernando’s Beach Resort and Hotel; identify the existing organization, management and marketing practices of the company; describe the promotional strategies practiced by the firm; and identify the problems encountered and the future plans of the firm. Fernando’s Beach Resort and Hotel Corporation is engage in resort and hotel business committed to the attainment of customers’ satisfaction. The company is composed of seven (7) stockholders. The primary purpose of establishing Fernando’s Beach Resort and Hotel is to provide recreation and entertainment to the people. The author conducted the study in the Marketing Department of Fernando’s Beach Resort and Hotel. Part of the job description attended were, receiving phone calls, accommodating guests, encoding and sorting of papers, arranging and photocopying the needed documents, evaluation of resort facilities and supplies, touring of guests and other marketing-related functions. One of the major tasks assigned to the author was accommodating and touring of guests where he was able to practice his marketing skills and ability learned from classroom. The main problem that the company encountered is the threat of terrorism and revolutionary activities posed by the Filipino rebel groups. The company managed to workout this problem by paying revolutionary taxes to the rebel groups.
