The study was conducted from November 2018 to April 2019 in selected barangays of Dasmariñas, namely: Salawag, Sampaloc IV and Paliparan III. The study intended to identify the level of awareness and compliance of selected barangays in Dasmariñas regarding waste management according to RA 9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management). The study used descriptive design.
The descriptive method was applied in presenting the information regarding the household profile of the participants while correlation was used in determining the significant difference of awareness and compliance regarding waste management according to RA 9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management). The following statistical procedures such as mean, frequency count and percentage, Pearson R- Test. Likert Scale was used to measure the level of awareness and compliance of the participants. Results shows that majority of the participants were 'not compliant' but 'highly aware'.
The study also revealed that the participants are highly aware regarding waste management but not compliant in a specific type of waste management techniques based on RA 9003 (ECOSWAM) they have different kind of reasoning and barriers in obeying the implemented rules and regulation. There is a significant relationship between the level of awareness and the level of compliance regarding waste management.
