Abstract: JOLINA P. PARIN, Selected Filipino Traits Affecting the Voting Turnout of Selected Voters in Ternate, Cavite During the 2019 Election. Undergraduate thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, June 2022. Adviser: Renato T. Agdalpen. The objectives of the study were to determine the (1) selected Filipino traits involved in the study, (2) the turnout status of selected voters in Ternate, Cavite during the 2019 election, (3) and if there is a significant relationship between the selected Filipino traits and voter's turnout in Ternate, Cavite. The study was conducted in Ternate, Cavite because of its high voting turnout. The researcher used a correlational research design. Using Slovins' formula with a 95 percent level of confidence and a 5 percent margin of error, the researcher ends up with 387 voters who voted in Ternate in the 2019 election. The participants were chosen randomly from those who actually voted in the 2019 election and the data was collected through google forms. Thus, the statistical data and significant relationships were determined using Pearson correlation. The findings revealed that the selected voters considered the five selected Filipino traits in their voting decision. The five selected Filipino traits: Utang na loob, Personalan/Tampuhan, Family Ties, Personal Connection, and Religion, affect the voting turnout of the selected voters in Ternate, Cavite during the 2019 election.
