Abstract: RODELYN V. MARCIAL, JOAQUIM ANNE A. PEJI, and HANELYN J. SOLINAP. The Influence of social media in Encouraging the Citizens of Selected Areas in Cavite to Register to Vote in the 2022 National Elections. Undergraduate Thesis Submitted to the Faculty of College of Arts and Science Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. Social media has a significant impact on elections. Because of the number of ideas, thoughts, and opinions moving via the social media platform to register to vote, a platform such as social media is compelling and works directly to modify or influence attitudes when it comes to political views. In this study, the objectives are the following: (1) Determine the personal profile of the participants; (2) Identify the most used social media platform of the newly registered voters in selected areas in Cavite; (3) Determine the level of influence of the following sources of influence through various social media platforms that encourage the citizens to register to vote; and (4) Determine the level of influence of publication materials on various social media that encourage citizens to register to vote in the 2022 National Elections. This study focuses on determining the influence of social media in encouraging the citizens of selected areas in Cavite to register to vote in the 2022 national elections. The researchers started formulating their study from the month of September 2021 up to May 2022. This study employed Quantitative research. It was used to find patterns and averages, make predictions, assess causal relationships, and generalize results to larger populations. As a result of the study, the demographic profile of the respondents reveals that the majority of the respondents are between the ages of 18 and 28, and the majority of the respondents registered in October 2021. Furthermore, Facebook is the most popular social media site among newly registered voters in selected areas of Cavite in terms of the amount of time they spend on social media each day. Finally, the researchers suggested broadening the scope of the study and focusing not only on places with the highest number of voters but also on areas outside of Cavite; providing supplementary and other related questionnaires to improve the consistency of the research instrument; and using this research study as a reference for their own studies that correlate to this scholarly work.
