Effects of Financial Knowledge and Financial Attitude Towards Saving Behavior of College Students at Cavite State University-Main Campus. Undergraduate Thesis. The study was conducted from May 2021 to January 2022 at Cavite State University-Main Campus. This study aimed to specifically: (1) describe the socio- economic profile in terms of (a) age, (b) sex, (c) college, and (d) weekly allowance; (2) determine the level of financial knowledge in terms of (a) objective financial knowledge and (b) subjective financial knowledge; (3) determine the level of financial attitude in terms of (a) risk preferences, (b) attitude towards money, (c) security; (4) determine the saving behavior in terms of (a) parental socialization, (b) peer influence, (c) self-control, (d) ability to save and (e) willingness to save; (5) effects of financial knowledge and financial attitude on the saving behavior. A descriptive and causal research design was used in this study. Proportionate stratified random sampling was utilized in determining the participants specifically, college students from different colleges at Cavite State University-Main Campus. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistical tools including frequency, percentage, weighted mean, and standard deviation. Meanwhile, Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was utilized to assess the effects of financial knowledge and financial attitude on the saving behavior of college students. The study revealed that the level of financial knowledge, in terms of objective, it is found that the college students are moderately knowledgeable. While in terms of subjective financial knowledge, it is found that college students are somewhat confident. Regarding their level of financial attitude, in terms of risk preference, college students have a moderately positive attitude. While on the attitude towards money, and security, it was found that the college students have a somewhat positive attitude. Regarding their saving behavior, in terms of parental socialization, self- control, ability to save, and willingness to save, it was found that college students have moderately positive saving behavior. While on the peer influence, it was found that college students have somewhat positive saving behavior. On the analysis of the effects of financial knowledge and financial attitude towards saving behavior, it was revealed that financial knowledge has no effect on the saving behavior of college students. While there was an effect of financial attitude on the saving behavior of college students.
