Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 2001. DESIGN OF A REINFORCED CONCRETE DECK GIRDER (RCDG) BRIDGE ACROSS JORDAN CREEK IN INDANG, CAVITE
The design project was conducted at the proponents' residence from October 2000 to March 2001 under the supervision of Eng'r. Roslyn Pena. It was evaluated on February 15, 2001, 3:30 to 6:30 P.M at the Accreditation Room of the College of Engineering, Cavite State University.
The design project aimed to enhance the knowledge learned in designing and to develop a design of a reinforced concrete deck girder bridge. The design would serve as a reference for the decision-makers for future implementation.
Ultimate Strength Design method was considered in the analysis of the design Of the structural members of the bridge. A detailed structural design, architectural drawings, design specification and total project cost were included in the study. A miniature scaled model of the proposed bridge was then provided after the completion of the design process.
The design of a 20.0m, single span bridge is appropriate as a replacement for the existing box culvert. Reinforced concrete deck girder (RCDG) type of bridge is suited for such span length It was designed with four girders and two design lanes. To determine the most economical section to be adopted in bridge design, it was highly recommended that a further study of single span bridge with three girders should be conducted. Thorough analysis of the design guidelines, specifications and procedures, as well as the internal forces, moments and displacements is necessary in the design of a RCDG bridge. The parameters to be used should be carefully studied and determined to avoid waste of time and effort. The project revealed the principles and considerations
