Abstract: DIEZMO, JOHN FREDERICK TALENTO, GLORIANI, CHRISIEL MEDINA, AND ORLINA, RALPH EMERSON (MIDDLE NAME). The Influence of Government Social Media to the Selected Millennials of Barangay Salawag, Dasmarinas City, Cavite during COVID-19 Pandemic. Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2022. Adviser: Mr. Jaymart Allen Baltazar. The purpose of this study was to explore the influences of government social media of Barangay Salawag, Dasmariñas City, Cavite to the selected Millennials of their community during the COVID-19 Pandemic. It also tackles and specifies each influence, their respond with their government social media likewise the extent of these influences with them. The study used the Situational Communication Crisis Theory (SCCT) which discusses the communication established between the chosen actors and how it affects both of them, specifically between the local government unit- barangay level of their community and the selected millennials using social media as the medium. Facebook was also chosen as the basis of their communication where their official government site has been established. The researchers have floated an interview guide questions composed of 8 comprehensive items which was validated by three trusted university validators. As for their advice where the research must be composed of at least 15 respondents related to the field, the study has chosen 15 millennials from the selected main subdivisions of Barangay Salawag, Dasmariñas City, Cavite. The participants have an age of between 26-41 (millennials) known as the first digital age generation and has expertise and experience in using social media among the other age group and generation, and most likely female which dominated in this study since they are the ones who usually spent more time in using social media. Likewise, 14 of them are already working while the other one is still studying, adding credentials of the most affected sector during the pandemic strike, the labor sector. The findings revealed that the selected participant in this study has different influences by their government social media and strongly affects them during the pandemic strike. Hence, most of them respond instantaneously without hesitation and instantly follows to what their government social media has been posted. This study revealed that social media is a strong and efficient tool of communication by the local government with their society men during the pandemic that needs further study and scrutinization for the next generation of the Filipino youth people.
