Abstract: ARAÑA, CARLA H., and PONELAS, DARRELL V. Comparative Analysis on Pre-Election Guidelines of the Philippines and Singapore. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2022. Adviser: Ria Anne C. Rozul. The objectives of the study were to identify the (1) form of Government and election type of the Philippines and Singapore, (2) the similarities and differences of their pre-election guidelines according to candidates and campaign strategies, and, (3) to determine (a) effective and (b) gaps in the implementation of the Philippines and Singapore's pre-election guidelines. The researchers compared the effectiveness and gaps in pre-election guidelines in the Philippines and Singapore. They collected comprehensive readings and data from September to December 2021, and by January 2022, the researchers were able to provide a result of the study. In addition to extensive web research, researchers contacted COMELEC and Singapore's embassy in the Philippines by email. In order to address the study's purpose, a qualitative research approach was used. While policy analysis was utilized to understand and analyze the data collected, the study's findings were then developed. The study found that the Philippines' campaigning guidelines are effective, but Singapore falls short in terms of implementation. While Singapore's higher education requirement has been successful, it has subsided in the Philippines.
