Abstract: DOMINGUEZ, ABRAHAM M. and MESIA, JAYSON A. KALISAGNAYAN: A One-Stop Regional Justice Hub. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Architecture. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2022. Adviser: Arch. Anne Lorraine Javier- Salinas. The study was conducted from October 2021 to June 2022 at Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite to develop a proposed One-stop Regional Justice Hub which will serve as the region's convergence for further discussions regarding our justice system and the reform it needs, in a regional level located at Calamba, Laguna. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1.) gather data and information that is needed for the proposed justice hub through different books, internet files, articles, journals, and other reading materials; 2.) establish site criteria that will be the basis for identifying the most effective site for the project; perform site selection using the established site criteria to determine the most effective and suitable site for the institute; 3.) formulate a design, form concept, design strategies, design considerations, and design philosophy that will be suitable to a training and research institute for sustainable farming; 4.) determine through space programming the necessary spaces, areas, features, facilities for the justice hub; 5). Produce architectural presentation drawings for the proposed facility including site development plan, floor plans, elevations, sections, and perspectives; and 6. produce a walkthrough/flythrough presentation of the proposed One-Stop Regional Justice Hub. Throughout the research project, data were collected, site criteria were formulated, a site was selected, an analysis of the site was conducted, architectural programming and space calculations were completed, and concepts were developed to determine the most suitable approach for planning and organizing the study. The site is located at Brgy. Turbina in Calamba, Laguna has a total land area of 50,000 sqm and is private-owned land. The researchers applied site zoning categories such as: 1.) according to privacy, in which the site was divided into three parts separating the public, semi-private, and private areas; 2.) according to pillar, in which the site was divided into five parts, namely, law enforcement, prosecutor, judiciary, corrections, and community. The design concept of the proposed one-stop regional justice hub will be Tropical and Contemporary Architecture incorporated with Sustainable Design. This concept seeks to produce structures that can understand and respond to the climate, culture, and environment of their location. A crucial component of Tropical Architecture is the use of passive strategies to counteract solar heat gain and promote natural ventilation. In addition to creating energy- efficient buildings, these strategies also allow them to be more sustainable, providing a more environmentally friendly architecture. Furthermore, they become better places for health and wellbeing. Additionally, rather than adhering to a single style or set of standards, Contemporary Architecture is also considered, as this concept caters to present-day cultural trends and 21st-century values. The hub consists of 12 facilities; two facilities under the Law Enforcement Pillar which is responsible for preventing, detecting, investigating, and apprehending criminals, namely: 1.) Police Station and Forensic Group Building, and 2.) Medical Forensic Laboratory and Training Facility; two facilities under the Prosecutor Pillar that initiate and maintain criminal proceedings against persons accused of criminal offenses on behalf of the state, namely: 1.) IBP Headquarters and Public Attorneys' Office building, and 2.) Private Law Firm Spaces: one facility under the Judiciary Pillar which is authorized to hear civil, criminal, and other cases, including in appeal courts, and make dispositions in a court of law, which is the Regional Justice Hall building; two facilities under the Corrections Pillar, namely: 1.) Detention Center, and 2.) Correction's Medical Center; Material Recovery Facility and Motor pool for the utility. The researchers suggest the following for the development and improvement of the study: 1.) Preparation for electrical, sanitary, mechanical, and structural drawings; and 2.) provision of materials estimate, cost estimate, cost analysis, structural analysis, and methods of construction.
