Abstract: KYLA D. DIANITO. JOHANNA JOYCE S. LEOPERME. LISA MAE O. ONCITA. The Socio-Political Legacies of Remulla Administration from 1980-2021. Undergraduate Thesis Submitted to the Faculty of College of Arts and Science Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. Society has seen with their own eyes how the government that rules them directly affects them and their livelihoods, especially during the pandemic. This study closely considered the legacies of the Remulla Administration to their constituents in Cavite from 1980 to 2021. The Remullas was pioneered by Juanito Remulla in the 1980s and their political influence has been present in the Province of Cavite since then. The research aimed to lay out adequate data about the legacies that touches on both the social and political aspects of the province, so constituents can make an informed decision in the 2022 elections. The researchers focused on the socio-political legacies of the Remulla family, specifically environmental, agricultural, industrial, poverty, and employment as they are visibly seen in the province. The researchers began developing their study in February and concluded it in April of 2022. They used qualitative research methods, using narrative analysis and archival analysis. The researchers used interviews as their main instrument and interviewed Hon. Juanito Victor Remulla and the other two members of the Provincial Heads. Furthermore, they expanded and supported the narratives of the respondents using archival research, particularly in provincial libraries. The Remulla family were purely Caviteños; Juanito Remulla was born in Imus, Cavite, and started his governorship career in 1980. As for Jesus Crispin "Boying" Catibayan Remulla, he has been serving as the representative of Cavite's 7th district since 2019, and previously held the position from 2010 to 2013. Furthermore, Juanito Victor "Jonvic" Remulla was appointed Governor of the Province of Cavite in 2010. He held the position again after winning in the 2019 elections. He is running for the May 2022 elections. The data collected reveals that the most significant legacy of the Remulla was the industrial revolution that changed Cavite from its dark ages to a golden era in the 1980's. The industrial revolution indeed lessened poverty in Cavite and produced thousands of jobs. However, as industrialization pervades the province, industrial waste affects the environment. Furthermore, the agricultural sector is becoming less and less of a priority as the province becomes more and more industrialized and, therefore, the most industrialized province in the whole country. The researchers, however, recommend studying further on the legacies of Hon. Juanito Victor Remulla and Cong. Jesus Crispin Remulla, as the paper lacked data for both politicians and was focused mainly on their father, Juanito Remulla.
