Abstract: BAÑEZ, ERYL DAVID F. and DELA CRUZ, JOHN VINCENT D. B_HIVE: Hub for Interdisciplinary Studies of the Varieties and Ecology of Bees. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Architecture. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2022. Adviser: Arch. Kenn Paolo C. Valero. This study was conducted from September 2021 to May 2022 in General Trias, Cavite, for the proposal of a hub facility about the life and importance of bees. For such purposes, the facility will develop the area as a new tourist attraction. The general objective of the study was to design a hub that will promote education and awareness about the global problem and benefits of bees. The development of the project will consist of Api tourism, learning, research, museum, and medical knowledge, including apitherapy in medicine. The hub will serve as one of the biggest conservation facilities for Bee that will benefit the country's agriculture and environmental biodiversity. Specifically, the study aimed to 1. design a complex for the study and promotion of bees with the use of Architectural practice in designing; 2. design a Hub that will meet the research and developmental needs on genetic diversity, bee breeding, pollination and socio- economic constraints in technology adoptions; 3. plan a development which is easy to navigate; 4. determine the needed structures, features, facilities and activities for the quality experience and 5. provide architectural works such as architectural drawings (floor plans, elevations, and sections), fully rendered drawings comprising of conceptual sheet, perspectives, and site development plan. The researchers listed the factors to be considered in designing the project, these were: Bee Life Cycle, Character, Eco Friendly Materials, Law and Ordinances, Circulation, Zoning, Accessibility, Natural Light and Ventilation, Landscapes and Vegetation, Proper Signages, Waste Management and Symbiotic Relationship of bees and humans. These factors were then analyzed and investigated; thus, the proponents have concluded the design strategies that will be applied to the project.
