Abstract: BENEDICTO, GERAMI M. and TABALE, SAM M. Digit-Line: An Arithmetic Computer-Based Game Application for Grades 1 to 3 Students. Capstone Project. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. July 2022. Adviser: Prof. Gladys G. Perey. The CoViD-19 pandemic changed how schools work, as well as the learning process of the primary schoolers from the traditional face-to-face classes to online and modular learning. As children were not allowed to roam outdoors, most of their time was spent playing games. Over the years, however, video games were in different studies investigating how it impacts the brain of the users. This capstone project aims to design and develop a computer-based game application, Digit-Line, that acts as an alternative learning preference for the primary schoolers to learn arithmetic. To assess the game application, Digit-Line, if it complies with the ISO 9126 standard, two software evaluations were distributed to technical (IT personnel) evaluators and non-technical (non-IT personnel), and Likert scale was used to rate Digit-Line. The results showed a high average emphasizing the user-friendliness of the game application in both technical and non-technical evaluations. Based on the results, it pointed that Digit-Line is very effective for the primary schoolers to learn and train them in arithmetic through a game.
