Summary: "Quantum physics is necessary to explain properties of solids, atoms, nuclei and light. Aside from providing the basis for our understanding of natural phenomenon, quantum principles represent a fundamental change in how humans view nature. Quantum physics is the branch of physics that uses quantum theory to describe and predict the properties of a physical system. Quantum mechanics is a fundamental branch of the physics with wide applications in experimental and theorical physics that replace classical mechanics and electromagnetism at the atomic and subatomic levels. It is a more fundamental theory than Newtonian mechanics and classical electromagnetism in the sense that it provides accurate and precise descriptions for many phenomena that those classical theories cannot explain on the atomic and subatomic level. Predictions of quantum mechanics have been verified experimentally to a very high degree of accuracy. Thus, the current logic of correspondence principle between classical and quantum mechanics is that all objects obey laws of quantum mechanics, and classical mechanics is just a quantum mechanics of large systems (or a statistical quantum mechanics of a large collection of particles). The book covers basic principles and applications of quantum mechanics, from the uncertainty relations to many-body systems. The book is of great help to students, teachers and general readers."--Back cover
