Abstract: BUENVIAJE, KATHLEEN RAYAH A., HERRERA, CHANEL JOY B., and LEONOR, ROSSMILLE R. Lived Experiences of Teenage Fathers In Selected Areas of Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2018: Thesis Adviser: Mary Sol A. Abad, RPm. The study was conducted from August 2017 to May 2018 at Cavite State University, Indang Cavite to determine the lived experiences of teenage fathers in selected areas of Cavite. Specifically, this study aims to answer the following; 1.) the experiences they faced as teenage fathers; 2. ) the social life when they became teenage fathers; 3.) the struggles of teenage fathers. This research focused mainly on the lives of the teenage fathers. The researchers used Phenomenology research design. The researchers gained insights and information based on the separate interviews from the teenage fathers about their lived experiences as a teenage father. The researchers gathered eight participants for this study. Researchers used purposive sampling using snowball technique because the study compassed participants' rare cases that include confidentiality. Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis was used in the analysis of data. The study revealed that majority of the participants' outlook towards fatherhood was positive. They accepted the sudden changes as they embrace their new role as a father. The participants' experienced downfalls, shortcomings, failures but they tend to be persevering throughout their experiences. They also did self-sacrifice such as lessened time for friends, minimized habits they used to do before just to become a good father and provider to their new family. The findings also pointed out that the participants' became resilient and persistent throughout their experiences. They also embraced new challenges that they will sooner encounter to their new life experiences. They view their lives with optimism because they were inspired raising their children together with his partner. The fathers in this study are remarkably positive about their experiences, despite challenges, a range of situations with the mothers of their children.
