Abstract: LORENZANA, JOEY F., MENDEZ, ROBEE G., and OCAMPO, KENNETH ROY B. Carica Papaya Fruit, Leaf and Stem Extracts and its Effects to warts. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2011. Advisers; Mrs. Annie Mojica Ramos and Mr. Melvin Nizel Alarca. This study was conducted to determine the effects of the three carica papaya extracts on warts. Specifically, the study aimed to determine if the extracts derived from carica papaya caused changes in wart color, diameter and thickness; and to determine which among the extracts derived from carica papaya is the most effective in wart removal. The treatments were composed of Treatment zero a negative control that did not receive any treatment; Treatment one received either, carica papaya, fruit, leaf or stem extract administered once a day for six weeks; Treatment two received either, carica papaya, fruit, leaf or stem extract administered twice a day for six weeks; and treatment three received either, carica papaya, fruit, leaf or stem extract administered thrice a day for six weeks. Initial and final data were gathered and were subjected for comparison through statistical analysis. The effects of carica papaya fruit extract were very evident against Carica papaya leaf extract. Based on the findings of the study, it can be concluded that the treatment of Papaya (carica papaya) extract has an effect in removing warts. Warts can be treated with different variations of time, using the leaf, fruit and stem of papaya. Treatment one corresponds to applying the extract on the warts once a day, Treatment for twice a day, Treatment three for thrice a day and Treatment zero for the controlled variable. After six weeks of treatment, it turned out that the fruit has the greatest effect in the change of thickness of warts. Therefore the fruit of papaya is the most effective part in removing warts.
