Abstract: JOHNREE A. EVANGELISTA, FATIMA CLARISSE R. FERMA, and JONVIC A, GRAJO, Synergistic Antimicrobial Effect of Sintones (Citrus reticulata Blanco) Pulp and its Peel Extracts againt Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus mutans. Undergraduate Research Study. Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. October 2018. Adviser. Mr. John Beron B. Datoy. RMT. The study, entitled Synergistic Antimicrobial Effect of Sintones (Citrus reticulata Blanco) Pulp and its Peel Extracts againt Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus mutans was conducted at the Laboratory of the Department of Medical Technology, College of Nursing, CvsU Indang, Cavite from August 2018 to September 2018. Generally the study aimed to determine the inhibitory effect of C. reticulate Blanco pulp and its peel extract against S. aureus and S. mutans. Specifically, the study aimed to: determine the concentration in which the C. rerteidata Bianca pulp extract inhibit the growth of: S. aureus and S. mut determ ne the concentration m which C. rezieutata Blanco peel extract inhibit the growth of S. aureus and S. mutans; determine Ate xncentration in which the combination of the C. retithdata Bianca pulp and peel inhibit the growth of S. awe., and S. thutthis and determine if the combination peel and pulp extract were more effective in inhibiting the growth of S. aureus S msaans compared to commercial ceftriaxone. The determination of the synergistic antimicrobial effects of sintoes pulp and ,,,,acts against Staphylococcus and Streptococcus thutaris was done through Tent treatments with separate and combined concentrations of the thhanolic pulp and extract. The zone of inhibitions exhibited by the siMones pulp and peel extract were measured and assessed through analysis of variance and were interpreted using uncan's Multiple Range Tear (DMRD. The results of the shicly revealed that the combined and separated Sintones pulp and peel extract did not exhibit zones of inhibition in treatments that contained different concentrations of the peel and pulp, leading to a conclusit the growth of S. aureus. In contrast to this, the combined n that the extract peel were proven effective in showing zones of inhibition against S. mutans leading us to the conclusion that the treatments that contained different concentration of Sintones peel and pulp extracts were able to inhibit the growth of S. mutans. Futhermore, the said inhibition on S. mutans by using pulp and peel alone and combined pulp and peel extracts were comparable to the controls.
