Abstract: NOVERO, JENNYLYN R. Financial, Material and Human Resource Management of State Universities in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Economics. Cavite State University. lndang, Cavite. April 2006. Adviser: Dr. Luzviminda A. Rodrin. A study was conducted from January to February 2006 to determine their financial, human and material resource management. Specifically, the study aimed to: describe the profile of the State Universities, determine the human resource management practices of the state universities, determine the material resource management practices of the state universities, determine the financial resource management practices of the state universities, and identify the problems encountered by the state universities in financial, material and human resource management. Four state universities were covered in the study, namely Cavite State University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Technological University of the Philippines, and Eulogio "Amang" Rodriguez institute of Science and Technology. Results of the study showed that PUP had been in operation for 19 years, EARIST and TUP for 24 years and CvSU for a much longer period of 100 years. The number of faculty members employed by the state universities ranged from 42 to 549 faculty members. Likewise, the number of support staff hired by the state universities ranged from 5 to 101. TUP and CvSU had higher number of enrollees in the 11 semester of AY 2005- 2006. On the other hand, PUP had the lowest number of enrollees followed by EARIST during the same period. EARIST offered undergraduate programs and laboratory high school. TUP offered undergraduate and graduate programs while PUP had undergraduate and open university programs. CvSU offered five academic programs, namely graduate school, open university, undergraduate, laboratory high school, and elementary programs. Findings of this study revealed that EARIST and PUP were the universities that were most diligent in the performance of essential human resource management practices while TUP and CvSU were not as conscientious. The four state universities were all highly affirmative in the material resource management practices of their University. And, lastly, the four state universities employed a sound financial management practices. The problems related to human resource, material resource and financial resource management
